Which piece of writing sticks out to me? I liked the "Only Daughter'' piece. This is not because I am an only daughter, or even an only child, but rather how it changes the writing. In this test, the writer believes that her answer to a writer's questioning would be different depending on how old she was, how she grew up, and even the mood she was feeling, and I can relate to that idea. What did college mean to Cisnero's dad? He believed the only reason a daughter went to college was to get themselves a wife. Because of his perceived sponsorship, he did not really care what she did in college, as long as a husband came out of the many years she attended. I can think of a time where I misappropriated a particular sponsorship. I am currently a 3rd-year acro member, I have been on three different teams over my three years of participating in the sport. Before I joined though, I always thought of it as maybe a girl's sport where they just danced around and did no...

How is writing impacted by prior experiences? I think for sure your style of writing is impacted by what you have grown up with and have been taught. For example, if you grow up with a family who is very formal and proper, you would write in a way that is very formal and proper. If your family communicates a lot by texting or speaks in such a way that would be considered lazy or improper, you might tend to write in that way. How do sponsors gain from their sponsorship? In the case of my parents, they have gained because they now have someone to help out with all the big projects. Since they have taught me to work and do well with craftsman type labor, they now have someone who can help out keeping the house in repair and doing odd jobs. I know this is not really considered a literary sponsorship, but it is definitely a way that their sponsorship has paid off. How do race and class impact the sponsorship of someone? This is a fairly easy question, the poorer people and classes tend ...

How does rhetoric apply to me now? When I first started this course, I had no idea about anything to do with rhetoric in writing, it all seemed rather foreign to me. Since I have completed this course, I have gotten a much better understanding of the use of rhetoric. I have learned that the rhetor is the person or item "talking" in the text, they are the ones sharing the ideas. In the case of this blog, I am the rhetor, and I am sharing answers to the questions. The audience is the group of people the rhetor is trying to convey his ideas to. In this case, the audience would be you, the reader. Exigence is the reason the rhetor is doing the sharing, in our example, I am writing this blog entry so I can get a good grade for the course. I am also writing to share what I have learned over the course of this project. These are just a few of the many things I have learned over the course of this project.
